Make Your Life More Awesome

Whether it’s in a skill or a mindset, more money or a better career, your life could use more awesomeness. Seriously, can you think of anyone who doesn’t deserve to have more awesome in their lives? Your friends deserve it, your family deserves it, and YOU deserve it.

While you’re reading this, think about what YOU can do to make YOUR life more awesome.

Sure, I did some time with the 101 Goals in 1001 Days project, and I totally respect that, because it gave me an idea about what I wanted to do with my life. I have to admit that I had a hard time coming up with 101 goals. Most of them were throwaway goals – they fell into the ‘extremely easy’ category. I mean, two of my goals were to go bowling and to get a comfy chair. I like my comfy chair, and I can rest assured that the pro bowling circuit has nothing to worry about.

But those were things that I could live without. They weren’t at the top of my list, or even at the middle. They were just things to do. Sitting around and watching all of the movies on my list seemed like a waste of time. I put things on my list like go to museums and other stuff, too. Those weren’t real goals, those were things that I either do or don’t do. Having experienced these things enriched my life, sure, but they weren’t things that I can consider truly awesome.

Your life is awesome. Think about the things that would make your life more f*ing awesome.

Do you want to break a world record?
Do you want to be thinner?
Do you want to know different languages?
Do you want to break boards with your feet?
Do you want to cook for Gordon Ramsay?
Do you want to have a personal chat with Barack Obama?

If you’re someone who loves making lists, make the list of things that would make your life more awesome. Write about why it would be awesome, write about how you’re going to make it happen. If you don’t like writing, don’t make the lists. Don’t bother with them, because you already know what you’re pursuing. The path to your awesomeness is solely yours, and it shouldn’t be dictated by me or someone else.

Now is not the time to focus on specific goals, it’s the time to focus on making your life MORE awesome.

In the comments, tell me what you would make YOUR life more awesome.
